304 O’Reilly

From the moment we walked in, we knew 304 O’reilly was a different and happening restaurant, compared to most of the ‘paladares‘ (privately owned restaurants in La Habana). The vibe was very similar to South Beach: modern and hip but not overly so. The small two-story paladar’s bar was the center focal point and the mixologist was keeping things flowing with beautiful, impressive looking drinks. WP_20151001_026
I want to point out that if it weren’t for the owner, Jose, and his wonderful staff rearranging some seating, we would not have had a table. The place was reservation-only by sundown; not by policy but by demand, as the place was packed and it was only a Thursday. We sat down and I promptly ordered a mojito for me, and a frozen virgin lemonade for Jenn. The presentation was great, but I was a little disappointed in the taste which was rather bland.
Jenn’s lemonade was good though. Next came our meal which was grilled veggies and lobster which was fantastic (11cuc).
The atmosphere was fun and not rushed. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at 304. We definitely recommend it!
