Cubans leaving Cuba, well you just might...

I thought you should know the other truth of what is really going on. In Cuba, Cuban citizens are in one of two categories: 1) Your a tourist (residency in another country) with no benefits like medical or the ability to own property in Cuba. or 2) Your a permanent resident with all of the above benefits and still the ability to come and go from Cuba as long as you set foot in Cuba once for 24 hours every 2 years.   I keep hearing, and reading in the media “it is so bad in Cuba that over 10,000 Cubans have left the island just recently”.  The main reason...

304 O’Reilly

From the moment we walked in, we knew 304 O’reilly was a different and happening restaurant, compared to most of the ‘paladares‘ (privately owned restaurants in La Habana). The vibe was very similar to South Beach: modern and hip but not overly so. The small two-story paladar’s bar was the center focal point and the mixologist was keeping things flowing with beautiful, impressive looking drinks. Compostela 157: Awesome food and ‘...

The first time I went to restaurant Compostela 157 was a great experience!  All of the food tasted super fresh and I later found out why! I also became friends with Emilio, the owner, his brother Jorge, and his awesome bartender, nicknamed ‘The Batman,’ who is a super mixologist even given the limited tools he has to work with.    Emilio believes in keeping the food as fresh as possible.
